​Aamir Khan reveals his vision for drought-free Maharashtra

Aamir Khan, who is known to take up social issues in his TV show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ is all set to represent the cause of drought in Maharashtra with ‘Satyamev Jayate Water Cup’ project. It will be a contest wherein people from various villages will be invited to learn water-harvesting and later make their villages drought free. “Most of the NGOs are doing a good job of investing in structures, but we believe in investing in people. All of our resources, efforts will be to create an army of people who will learn water harvesting and get them to do it for themselves. Empower, educate and encourage people, that is what we are trying to do,” says the actor. There will be extensive publicity too for the cause of ‘Satyamev Jayate Water Cup’ and several celebrities like Ratan Tata, Sachin Tendulkar, the Birlas and the Ambanis, apart from Bollywood have given their nod in-principle to join the project.
