Aamir Khan may well be doing one film a year but the actor assures that his producers laugh their way to the banks. The ‘Dangal’ actor takes a share in the profits, instead of charging an upfront fee. Although no star generally talks about his or her remuneration and the arrangement with the makers, Aamir reveals, “I don’t charge a single rupee for my films. Whatever the film earns, the first money goes to the investors. When everyone is paid and all costs are recovered, I take a percentage from the profits. So if the film doesn’t work, I will be the one not earning. I feel responsible for that in some way.” Shah Rukh Khan is another actor who is known to work in a similar fashion.
