PM Narendra Modi releases a book & souvenir on Baba Banda Singh Bahadur

To mark the 300th Martyrdom Anniversary of Baba Banda Singh Bahadurji held in New Delhi, a commemorative coin on Baba Banda Singh Bahadurji was presented to the Prime Minister and Punjab Chief Minister Shri Parkash Singh Badal. The Prime Minister also released a book and souvenir on Baba Banda Singh Bahadurji to mark in New Delhi.

The anniversary year will also see the release of Eros International & Baweja Movies’ sequel to their 2014 Punjabi super hit 3D animated film, Chaar Sahibzaade – titled Chaar Sahibzaade – Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur, directed once again by Harry Baweja, celebrating the story of the legendary larger-than-life superhero, Banda Bahadur.

The sequel, Rise of Banda Singh Bahadur, takes forward the story of Banda Bahadur, from the pages of Indian history, who fought with great valor, courage and embodied the spiritual warrior qualities that Shri Guru Gobind Singhji conveyed through his teachings.

On the release of the commemorative coin, Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “Baba Banda Singh Bahadurji was not just a great warrior but was very sensitive towards common people.” He spoke at length about the compassion towards the poor and the welfare of farmers which was at the core of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur ji’s ideals.

Commenting on the occasion, Director Harry Baweja said, “It is a matter of such honor and pride to have PM Modi ji pay tribute to one of the greatest Sikh warriors. His inspiring words honoring Baba Banda Singh Bahadurji gives a huge boost in spreading awareness and recognizing the inspirational values imbibed by the great hero. It is remarkable that the nation is finally recognizing the legendary Banda Singh Bahadur, his sacrifices, his martyrdom, the uplifting of the commoners and various other deeds that he did for the country”

This film celebrates the heroics of Banda Singh Bahadur and attempts to share his life story to audiences across the world. It will release worldwide in Punjabi, Hindi and English on 11th November 2016.
