Sandip Soparrkar and Jackie Shroff honored and awarded by NMIFF

The red carpet was laid for the Navi Mumbai International Film festival that began on 29th May 2015. The second edition of this popular international film festival had over 75 countries taking part and more than 400 films being showcased.

 

The closing ceremony of the festival had a starry start where veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff and Internationally renowned choreographer and ballroom dancer Sandip Soparrkar were honored and awarded by the organizers of  the Navi Mumbai International film festival 2015 for their incredible contribution to cinema.

 

The renowned choreographer was especially honored for his fantastic work in Hollywood and bollywood films. “Sandip is a maestro in various forms of dance and has done immense work in spreading the dance culture across the country & world. Many film stars from Bollywood and Hollywood have been trained by him & the young aspirants & artists are learning from his great experience” said Mr. Sachin Khanna, Festival Founder & Chairman.

 

Sandip has choreographed for films including 7 Khoon Maaf, Mangal Pandey and Kites among others, and has popularized Bollywood dance on an international platform, apart from choreographing for Icons like Britney Spears and Madonna. Through this art, he has also raised funds for various causes world over. Sandip Soparrkar said, “I am extremely happy to receive this honor from Navi Mumbai International Film Festival. I feel humbled to be receiving this honor in front of so many film lovers from all over the world.”
