New pics: Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput's real-life vivaah

Finally, it is done. Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput are officially Mr and Mrs Kapoor now and we have got the picture to prove it (see above).

The couple married at industrialist Shivinder Singh’s farmhouse in Delhi. “My bhabhi is very nice, I hope sabko aisi bhabhi mile,” Sanah, Shahid’s step-sister told the media, as she accompanied the couple, along with Shahid’s father, actor Pankaj Kapoor and step-mother Supriya Pathak. “Thank you so much for your support, we look forward to spending this time with our family,” said Pankaj.

The wedding was a family affair. “They wanted a very private ­ceremony. Only around 40 of their close friends and family were ­present,” a source close to the actor told HT City. The venue of the wedding had tight security and there were  barricades  placed on the road near the bungalow.

The wedding ended at around 12.30pm, after which the couple sat down for lunch with the family and their Guru from the Radha Soami Satsang Beas.

On Monday, the couple had their sangeet and mehendi ceremony at Mira’s Chhatarpur house. She wore a yellow outfit at the haldi, and accessoried it with a floral neckpiece and tiara. She chose the same colour for her sangeet, and wore an Anita Dongre lehenga, while Shahid sported a maroon bandgala by designer friend Kunal Rawal. The couple danced to many of Shahid’s songs. Some of the other songs included Dilliwali Girlfriend, Bang Bang, Saturday Saturday.

Only close friends and family were present at the venue, which was not a hotel as earlier reported. All the rituals took place according to Punjabi tradition. 

Sources confirmed 30-40 guests were present when Mira, 21, and Shahid, 34, exchanged their vows at a close friend's house. Details of marriage have been kept under wraps.

Shahid Kapoor also posted his photograph with Mira Rajput on Instagram.



The couple is now heading to Oberoi in Gurgaon where a wedding reception is slated to take place in the evening with over 500 guests present.



Shahid's family members started arriving at the Trident Hotel in Gurgaon from Sunday night and a sangeet took place on Monday night where Shahid and Mira also performed to actor's superhit songs.

A wedding reception in Mumbai on July 12 will be a big grand affair with Bollywood celebrities in attendance.

A few days ago, a wedding card of the duo was leaked online. It seems subtle and features motifs of a peacock, and reads that the celebrations in The Oberoi will begin at 7 p.m. The card also reads: "No gifts please. Blessings only."

For the ensembles, designer Kunal Rawal, a close friend of Shahid, has been roped in to design the outfit for the groom, while ace designer Anamika Khanna is said to have created the wedding dress for Mira.



Buzz is also that the couple will be unable to head out for a honeymoon immediately as Shahid has work commitments to look after.

The couple met due to their connect with the religious group Radha Soami Satsang Beas, and managed to develop a bond despite their 13-year age gap.
