Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directed ‘Padmavati’ was recently embroiled in controversy. A faction of a Rajput group protested against an alleged love angle between Rani Padmavati (played by Deepika Padukone) and Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh). However, Shahid Kapoor, who plays Raja Rawal Ratan Singh in the film, assures that there is nothing offensive in the film. “I have read the script and there is nothing objectionable in it. Everything is very dignified. People should watch the film and then react,” says the actor. The team of ‘Padmavati’ will now continue shooting in Mumbai where an elaborate set is being erected.
