The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is planning to go digital which will not allow filmmakers to get their movies censored last minute. This move will also stop them from announcing release dates before the film certification. Lauding this move, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt says, “This system is good that you get it censored first and later announce the release date. You then get the space to argue with them and revisit various windows to go in appeal. You need to believe in the sanctity of that document (Censor certificate).” Ironically, Bhatt got his upcoming film ‘Begum Jaan’ through the Censors first before announcing the release date of April 14.
