Aamir Khan and Yash Raj Films’ massive strategy to rake in Rs 50 crore on the opening day of ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ paid off. However, the film has been panned by most critics and audiences. The large-scale action drama, made on a massive budget, raked in Rs 50.75 crore on Thursday, banking on the festive time of Diwali. With weak script and story line, the successful opening was surely not to continue. Friday saw a decline in business by 44 percent and the film collected Rs 28.25 crore, with Saturday dropping further and collecting only Rs 22.75 crore. Despite the two powerhouse performers, Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan, the lavish ship of Thugs seems to be sinking day by day.
