Shah Rukh Khan has been honored for his service to the underprivileged children and women empowerment through an NGO Meer Foundation. SRK has received honorary doctorate from Australia’s Melbourne-based La Trobe University, which has also taken into account the star’s achievements in the Indian entertainment industry, apart from his philanthropic work. While travelling to the university for the honor, Shah Rukh Tweeted, “I am on the way to La Trobe University. Thank you for the kind gesture of offering a scholarship to a girl student from India for higher education and supporting the work at Meer Foundation,” tagging the institute. The academy in turn shared the pictures of the star receiving the honorary doctorate along with Shah Rukh’s little speech which he gave at the university.
