Rani Mukerji’s ‘Mardaani 2’ had a slow start on Friday as the Yash Raj Films production managed to collect Rs 3.80 crore at the box office on opening day. But the Gopi Puthran-directed film picked up thanks to a positive word of mouth in the next two days. Released on December 13th, ‘Mardaani 2’ collected Rs 6.55 crore on Saturday and Rs 7.80 crore on Sunday, taking the total to Rs 18.15 crore. The film talks about a fierce cop who takes to the streets to catch a serial rapist played by Vishal Jethwa. The hard hitting drama is inspired on true events.
