Madhur Bhandarkar has been off the radar for a while but the filmmaker can never be too far from the events and social obligations. The director played a real life hero to a lawyer at a recent gathering when the latter’s dress caught fire due to a candle placed nearby. Madhur ran to lawyer Abha Singh’s rescue and doused the fire with bare hands before it could turn tragic. While doing so, Madhur suffered a few burns and had to rush home with minor injuries on his palms and fingers. Singh was in shock with the developments but thanked Madhur nonetheless for his presence of mind. On the work front, Madhur’s last film was ‘Indu Sarkar’ which released in 2017.
