Deepika Padukone had announced a remake of the Hollywood hit ‘The Intern’ with much fanfare a few months back. The Hindi version got everyone excited because the actress roped in none other than veteran actor Rishi Kapoor to play the role originally essayed by Robert De Niro. Rishi was just out of the hospital after beating cancer in the US and about to begin work back home. The latest development in ‘The Intern’ remake said that Deepika has finalised Gauri Shinde to direct her ambitious venture. Though that could be far from truth considering Gauri prefers writing and developing script her own way, say some reports. She has earlier helmed films like ‘Dear Zindagi’ and ‘English Vinglish’. Another name doing the rounds to direct ‘The Intern’ is that of Amit Sharma, who did ‘Badhaai Ho’ in 2018.
