The bigger the film, the bigger the risk filmmakers take. That’s exactly what has happened with ‘Sooryavanshi’ and ‘83’. Directors Rohit Shetty and Kabir Khan are also co-producers of their films respectively. Neither is covered under insurance for their big-budget flicks to tide over the Covid-19 or similar situations till the time they hit the theatres. This has made everyone wary of the current scenario and other producers like Karan Johar and Reliance Entertainment for ‘Sooryavanshi’ and Deepika Padukone and Sajid Nadiadwala for ‘83’ are worried about mounting losses. A relatively smaller film like ‘Angrezi Medium’ was lucky to be released just before the lockdown and hence falls under the insurance policy.
