Ranveer Singh-starrer ‘83’ was close to release when the theatres had to shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak. The film’s post-production was complete and there were only last-minute preparations that were being taken care of. Since ‘83’ was ready to hit the screens, the news of it going straight to OTT platforms gathered steam. It was being said that director-producer Kabir Khan, along with other teammates, were contemplating selling the project to an OTT giant for a little less than Rs 150 crore. However, the team have refuted the reports as mere rumours. ‘83’ will release in theatres as originally planned once the lockdown is lifted and theaters resume operations.
