Noted singer, Voice over artist and actor SP Balasubrahmanyam is no more. He was hospitalised at MGM Healthcare in Chennai on August 5th and remained there since. At the age of 74, he suffered from Covid-19 and was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on August 13th. The press statement released by the medical facility said, “With profound grief, we regret to inform that SP Balasubrahmanyam has passed away on September 25th at 13.04 hours.” He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. Apart from giving hits like ‘Mere Rang Mein Rangnewali’, ‘Dekha Hai Pehli Baar Saajan Ki Aankhon Mein Pyaar’ and ‘Didi Tera Devar Diwana’ among others in the 80s and 90s, Balasubrahmanyam also lent voice to Kamal Haasan’s characters whenever he dubbed in Telugu.
