With theatres being shut for about six months, all releases were in limbo. Many big films released on OTT and some more are planned to hit the streaming giants in coming months skipping a theatrical release altogether. This is soon to change. It is coming to light that the Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone-starrer ‘83’ will hit the screens during Christmas this year while the Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Sooryavanshi’ is slated to release in the first quarter of 2021. ‘83’ and ‘Sooryavanshi’ were scheduled to release earlier as per the theatres chain PVR which had issued a statement in June this year, “Exciting times ahead… gearing up to release Rohit Shetty’s ‘Sooryavanshi’ on Diwali and Kabir Khan’s ‘83’ on Christmas this 2020!” Both the films now seem confirmed. Only change is Sooryavanshi’s postponement to early next year.
