According to reports, ‘Mangal Pandey: The Rising’ (2005) and ‘Manjhi: The Mountain Man’ (2015) director Ketan Mehta seems to be contemplating a biopic. He wants to make a biopic on freedom fighter Usha Mehta, who interestingly happens to be his aunt! It is said that Mehta is in fact considering Taapsee Pannu or Bhumi Pednekar for this chosen role, though the final decision is yet to be made. It was said that even Karan Johar was looking at making a biopic on the 20th century freedom fighter. Although this is chatter that Mehta and KJo will collaborate to work on this project jointly. For those who may not know, Usha Mehta was a Gandhian instrumental in setting up Congress Radio which gave voice to the Quit India movement.
