There were strong rumors a while ago that big ticket films like ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘RRR’ and ‘Attack’ were headed directly to various OTT platforms instead of hitting theatres first. The Covid-19 setback to the world has forced many industries to slow down, Bollywood being one of them. This has compelled many filmmakers to go the OTT way as their films are either ready or in the final post-production stage. But the producers of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘RRR’ and ‘Attack’ clarified today that their films will in fact, release in theatres first. “We would like to clarify that ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, ‘RRR’ and ‘Attack’ will release in cinemas. There have been several rumours doing rounds about these films releasing on OTT platforms before cinemas which are untrue. These magnum opus films are made for the big screen experience and would be releasing in theatres,” read the statement from Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios. The films boast of A-list stars and directors and are waiting in the wings to hit the screens.
