Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s name has now surfaced in the controversial Panama Papers Leak. The actress was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Indian government agency responsible for keeping a check on financial irregularities in the country. Ash appeared in front of the ED officials in New Delhi as per some reports. The officials questioned her in the alleged foreign exchange violations case and apparently the entire Bachchan family has been sent notices to explain its remittances since 2004. The world famous Panama Papers case exposes those rich, famous and powerful celebrities who try to divert funds to offshore firms allowing safe passage, also known as tax havens. The entire expose gained momentum when Amitabh Bachchan’s name was dragged in this leak a few years back.
