Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing a double role in his upcoming film ‘Shamshera’, which also stars Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor. Directed by Karan Malhotra, it was recently revealed that Ranbir was not the original choice for playing a double role, that of Balli and Shamshera. Commenting on this, Ranbir says, “I was offered the role of the son Balli when I heard the script for the first time. But the greedy actor inside me was asking me to play the other role as well. So I told Karan and Adi (producer Aditya Chopra) to allow me to also play the other character. That’s how I got Shamshera and Balli both.” And the outing enriched Ranbir as an actor. “Experience of playing both the characters was good. So I am very happy that I got to play the double role,” he adds. ‘Shamshera’ is hitting theaters on July 22nd 2022.
