Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor who is famous for some of the cult films like ‘Hyderabad Blues’, ‘Iqbal’, ‘Dor’ and ‘8×10 Tasveer’ is back with a new project titled ‘Trail of An Assassin’. The series is adapted from the book Ninety Days: The True Story of The Hunt For Rajiv Gandhi’s Assassin authored by Anirudhya Mitra. As the title itself suggests, the adaptation will revolve around the crucial time period just after India’s then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s death which was orchestrated by suicide bombers. Talking about his latest venture, Nagesh says, “I look forward to taking on this gritty and thrilling piece of storytelling.” Putting the spotlight on the immediate aftermath of late Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination, ‘Trail of An Assassin’ will be produced by Applause Entertainment. It still remains to be seen on which platform will the series be released.
