India’s official entry to the coveted Oscar Awards ‘Last Film Show’, which is made in Gujarati and titled ‘Chhello Show’ is shortlisted in the Best International Feature Film category at the 95th Academy Awards. Directed by Pan Nalin and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Dheer Momaya, Last Film Show talks about a nine-year-old boy’s craze for film and how the story unfolds for him in the future. All excited about the flick shortlisting in the Best International Feature Film category, the makers issued a joint statement, “We are humbled and overjoyed that our heartfelt ode to the cinematic medium, ‘Last Film Show’ (‘Chhello Show’), has been recognised by the world’s preeminent awards body, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Ever since our selection by the Film Federation of India as India’s official entry to the 95th Oscars, we knew in our hearts that the film was bound for something special. This is a historic moment for India and we hope to bring the Oscar home very soon.” On the other hand, the South film ‘RRR’ too made it to the impressive shortlist for its energetic song ‘Naatu Naatu’.
