Vishal Punjabi a.k.a. The Wedding Planner has been behind the lens for weddings of celebrity couples like Anushka Sharma &Virat Kohli and Deepika Padukone & Ranveer Singh. In a recent interview on Shivani Pau’s podcast, Vishal revealed an unexpected start to his career with Shah Rukh Khan in the late 1990s. Initially hired to design Shah Rukh Khan’s personal website during the dot-com boom, Vishal recalled, “Shah Rukh at that point was looking for a web designer. This was around 1999, early 2000s when there was a boom. He wanted to start this Bollywood portal where you could stream music and watch his films along with specialized content created by him for his fans around the world,” cementing the fact that how the superstar thinks much ahead of time. The project abruptly ended when the funding fell through and the company shut down, he recalled. However, impressed by Vishal’s skills Shah Rukh offered him a position at Red Chillies Entertainment marking the beginning of a lasting collaboration.
