Initial reports suggest that the much-anticipated Diwali releases ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ have faced a noticeable slump at the box office over the past week. Both films made impressive debuts with ‘Singham Again’ grossing approximately Rs 43.5 crore and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ pulling in Rs 35.5 crore on opening day. However, by Sunday the numbers began to drop with earnings slipping to Rs 35.75 crore for ‘Singham Again’ and Rs 33.5 crore for ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. The decline persisted through the week, with both films earning around Rs 10 crore by Wednesday. As a result, the trade circuit has revised its earlier projections lowering combined box-office expectations from Rs 1,000-1,100 crore to Rs 500-600 crore. Despite boasting star-studded casts and being part of successful franchises, the films seem to be struggling with a mix of lukewarm audience response and declining ticket sales. While the initial hype around these big-budget releases suggested a major box-office surge, the current trajectory indicates that the makers may need to recalibrate their expectations.
