Varun Dhawan’s upcoming action-packed film ‘Baby John’ is all set to release on December 25th, coinciding with the Christmas and New Year holiday season – a period traditionally favourable for box office success. However, the film faces tough competition from ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ which is expected to still dominate screens during this period. Despite this, insiders report that the makers of ‘Baby John’ are confident in their film’s potential and are planning to release on a substantial 3,000 screens. The key challenge, however, will be whether the film can secure sufficient screenings and prime showtimes from theatre owners. While the opening day may see more slots allocated to ‘Baby John’, its long-term prospects depend on how well it performs during the initial weekend. If the film fails to make a strong impact, theatres might prioritise additional screenings of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. This dynamic is guided by the basic principle of demand and supply. Interestingly, ‘Drishyam 2’, starring Ajay Devgn also launched on a similar number of screens showcasing the high stakes involved.
