Dia Mirza expressed her thoughts on Instagram following the filing of closure reports by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) concerning Sushant Singh Rajput’s case against Rhea Chakraborty. Rhea was Sushant’s girlfriend but later parted ways. While questioning the media’s accountability, she highlighted the emotional toll on Rhea Chakraborty and her family due to intense scrutiny. The CBI presented two closure reports – one addressing the abetment to suicide allegations raised by Sushant’s father, and the other responding to accusations by Rhea against Sushant’s sisters. Dia criticised the media’s relentless coverage, emphasising its damaging impact: “Who in the media will have the grace to put out a written apology to Rhea Chakraborty and her family? You went on a witch hunt. You caused deep anguish and harassment just for TRPs. Apologise. That’s the very least you can do,” she posted. The next decision rests with the courts, which may either endorse the reports or direct further investigation.
