The leg-spinner’s pivotal wicket of Kohli, who managed only 22 runs in the game of cricket proved to be a turning point in the match leaving the home crowd stunned. However, the aftermath spilled onto social media where Sonu Nigam’s Instagram was inundated with bizarre comments from irate fans. One user wrote, “Big fan, sir, but ‘Kohli ko out nahi karna chahiye tha,’” while another demanded, “How dare you take Kohli’s wicket?” This isn’t the first time cricket enthusiasts have blurred the lines of identity – Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi previously faced similar backlash when fans confused him with Gujarat Titans bowler Arshad Khan after a controversial dismissal of Kohli.
