Following Paresh Rawal’s unexpected departure from ‘Hera Pheri 3’, Akshay Kumar finally addressed the matter during the trailer launch of his upcoming comedy ‘Housefull 5’. While acknowledging the seriousness of the situation, Akshay expressed his disappointment over the public’s harsh judgment of Rawal’s decision. He firmly rejected the notion that his longtime co-star was “foolish” for stepping away, emphasising their decades-long friendship and mutual respect. “Let me first tell you that using a word like ‘foolish’ for my co-star is something I don’t appreciate. It is not right. I have worked with him for the last 32 years. We are very good friends. He is a great actor. I really admire him,” Akshay stated when asked about the controversy.
However, when pressed for further details, Akshay maintained that the issue was too serious to discuss publicly. He made it clear that legal proceedings were underway and that he would refrain from commenting further, “‘Jo bhi kuch hai,’ I don’t think this is a place where I will talk about it because it is a very serious matter. It is a matter which is going to be handled by the court. So I don’t think I am going to speak about it here.” Reports indicate that Akshay has filed a lawsuit against Rawal seeking Rs 25 crore in damages. In response, Rawal has reportedly returned the Rs 11 lakh signing amount and issued a formal reply to the legal notice. It will be interesting to see how this entire issue gets resolved.
