In honour of the film’s 20th anniversary, singer Shreya Ghoshal delighted fans with a rare treat – an unreleased verse from the song that has long held a special place in listeners’ hearts. Posting on Instagram, she wrote: “Here we go – The Unreleased Verse – ‘Piyu Bole’. We celebrate 20 years of ‘Parineeta’, but more than that, this year also marks 20 years of our friendship! The trio the world loved and how! Shantanu Moitra, Swanand Kirkire and Shreya Ghoshal.” Meanwhile, Vidya Balan, whose portrayal in the film remains iconic, reminisced about her first encounter with the soundtrack, revealing that ‘Piyu Bole’ was the very first song she heard from the album.
