Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital turned into an unexpected gathering spot for Bollywood’s elite on Monday night as concern mounted over the health of legendary actor Dharmendra. The 89-year-old star’s hospitalisation sparked a quiet pilgrimage of well-wishers from the film fraternity, each arriving with discretion and reverence.
Among the first to visit were Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan, whose late-night arrival was captured by paparazzi lenses despite their efforts to remain out of sight. Salman Khan known for his enduring bond with Dharmendra, appeared at a different time, followed by Govinda and a visibly shaken Ameesha Patel, who pleaded with photographers for privacy as she exited the hospital.
Throughout the day, the hospital’s corridors echoed with footsteps of industry insiders, reflecting the deep-rooted affection for the veteran actor. While initial reports stirred alarm by suggesting Dharmendra was on ventilator support, his family swiftly clarified. “Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. Request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy,” read the official statement from Sunny Deol’s team. Sunny had visited his father along with his sons Karan and Rajveer.
The clarification came in response to premature and erroneous reports of Dharmendra’s passing, which were later retracted by several media outlets.
Meanwhile, Dharam Paaji’s wife Hema Malini reached out to fans via social media, expressing gratitude and urging continued prayers. “I thank everyone for their concern about Dharamji, who is in hospital for observation. He is being continuously monitored, and we are all with him. I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery,” she wrote.
