The buzz around Bollywood’s release calendar has intensified ever since ‘Dhurandhar’ became a blockbuster and its sequel, ‘Dhurandhar 2’, locked in March 19, 2026 as its premiere date. Amid this shuffle, Akshay Kumar’s upcoming horror-comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’ found itself pushed back. The production team broke their silence with an official announcement online, unveiling a striking poster and confirming that audiences will now step into the haunted house on May 15th 2026. The film had earlier been slated for April 2nd 2026, but the revised schedule sets the stage for an early summer release. The poster carried the playful caption, “‘Bangle se ek khabar aayi hai!’ The doors open on May 15th 2026. See you in cinemas.” Directed by Priyadarshan, the project brings together a powerhouse ensemble – Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Asrani and Wamiqa Gabbi. Notably, it also marks Kumar’s reunion with Priyadarshan after nearly 14 years. Their last collaboration was the satirical comedy ‘Khatta Meetha’.
