Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his wife Shwetambari Bhatt walked free from Udaipur jail on Friday after the Supreme Court granted them bail in a high‑profile cheating case. The couple has been accused of misusing funds worth ₹30 crore that were allegedly taken from Ajay Murdia, founder of Indira IVF and Fertility Centre, under the pretext of financing a film project. Murdia claims the money was siphoned off through fabricated bills and later deposited into personal accounts. The apex court, led by Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi, directed the Chief Judicial Magistrate to set the bail conditions, and also issued notices to both the complainant and the Rajasthan government, scheduling the matter for February 19. Vikram and Shwetambari had been arrested in Mumbai in December 2025 and remained in custody since December 7th, facing charges of cheating and criminal breach of trust.
