Deepika Padukone turned her social media into a platform for civic accountability when she posted a stark reminder of Mumbai’s worsening air quality. On Thursday, she uploaded a screenshot of the city’s AQI readings, which hovered near 150, and added the words, “This city and its children are choking! How is this okay?!” Her post directly tagged the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), pressing officials to respond to the crisis. By spotlighting the issue in such a public way, Deepika amplified concerns about the health of residents and demanded urgent intervention. Away from activism, she continues to balance a busy career. After appearing in ‘Singham Again’ in 2024 with Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan, she is preparing for Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’, slated for release on December 24, 2026. She is also part of Atlee’s Telugu action project, tentatively titled ‘AA22xA6’, alongside Allu Arjun.
