Kunal Kapoor has opened-up about shifting into storytelling himself after it became hard to locate scripts that genuinely sparked his interest. He shared that he has finished three screenplays in different genres and is already working through ideas for a fourth. Posting a picture of himself alongside the completed drafts on his social accounts, Kapoor explained that writing was the next step because he could not land the kind of roles he wanted to portray, “I couldn’t find the work I was excited about. So I decided to write it. Three scripts. An action, a romance, a comedy. All finished. Now the hard part. Finding the right people to build them with. Meanwhile, idea number four is already refusing to leave me alone.” Before moving into acting, he worked as an assistant director and later debuted in MF Husain’s ‘Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities’ (2004).
