‘Nayyi Navelli’, an upcoming dark fantasy spectacle features Yami Gautam in a groundbreaking role as a ‘daayan’. The recently premiered trailer follows Mohini, an ostensibly ideal bride who arrives in a turbulent Meerut household initially impressing everyone with her domestic prowess. However, her true nature gradually becomes apparent as supernatural forces and mythological elements permeate the narrative. The film masterfully blends horror with comedic undertones anchored in India’s rich folkloric traditions. Yami’s haunting narration warns, “‘Treta yug mein ek raakshas ne apni shakti ko paane ke liye jaan laga di, naam toh suna hi hoga,’” hinting at impending turmoil and chaos. This October 16th release promises a distinctive cinematic experience, combining household dynamics with ominous, otherworldly elements. The earlier teaser of ‘Nayyi Navelli’ had already generated considerable anticipation for this unconventional family thriller.
