The long wait for clarity on a follow up to ‘3 Idiots’ is finally over as Aamir Khan has confirmed that a sequel is officially underway. Speaking to the publication Amar Ujala, he revealed, “Raju (Rajkumar Hirani) is working on ‘3 Idiots 2’ right now. I’ve heard the story and it’s wonderful. The script still needs some work, but the story itself is really good and unusual, with the same humour as the first film. It follows the characters from ‘3 Idiots’, only picking up 10 years later.” Khan also noted that Hirani will return to direct, ensuring continuity with the original vision. The first film, released in 2009, became a cultural landmark, and now audiences can look forward to revisiting its characters in a fresh chapter that blends nostalgia with new storytelling.
