Aamir Khan’s iconic film ‘Lagaan’ released on June 15, 2001 and to mark the film’s 21 years of release, the actor is hosting a bash at his residence. The entire team of ‘Lagaan’ is expected to be in attendance. Adding to the celebration is the buzz about the film being adapted into a musical in the United Kingdom. Reports state that several leading UK producers have approached Aamir Khan for the rights of the narrative, which will be showcased by The West End Theatre, which is one of the most popular theatres worldwide. If all goes well, then this adaptation of ‘Lagaan’ will feature a fresh cast and a worldwide tour of the show may be on the cards. Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, ‘Lagaan’ was India’s official entry to the 2002 Oscars. The film got nominated, but didn’t win the Oscar that year.
