The release of Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor’s film ‘Abir Gulaal’ has encountered significant challenges following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack on April 22nd. Amid growing calls for a boycott, the film’s two released songs, ‘Khudaya Ishq’ and ‘Angreji Rangrasiya’ have been removed from YouTube India. These tracks previously available on the production house’s channel A Richer Lens Entertainment and Saregama’s official handle, are no longer accessible. The removal appears to be a response to widespread criticism of the collaboration between Indian and Pakistani artistes in light of the attack. Additionally, the planned release of a new song ‘Tain Tain’ has been postponed. This controversy has cast a shadow over the film which was set to mark Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood. The situation underscores the sensitivity surrounding cross-border collaborations in the current climate.
