Akshay Kumar had announced a film titled ‘Rakshabandhan’ last year on the occasion of Rakhi itself. The film stars Bhumi Pednekar in the lead while it is directed by Aanand L Rai. Since the film is written by Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon, the expectations are running high. Sharma is a National Award-winning writer, famous for ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ series and ‘Raanjhanaa’ whereas Dhillon’s body of work includes ‘Manmarziyaan’, ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’. Talking about the film, Kanika says, “‘Rakshabandhan’ is a very special story which we hope will make its way into the hearts of every brother and sister! I have collaborated with Himanshu Sharma for the first time. He is known for changing the landscape of Hindi films.” The flick is slated to go on the floors on June 15, if everything falls into place.
