After months of swirling speculation, the curtain has finally lifted on the fate of ‘Alpha’. Featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, the film had been the subject of endless chatter – would it dodge a clash with Salman Khan’s ‘Battle of Galwan’ or bypass theatres altogether for a streaming debut? The guessing game is now over. On Monday, the makers unveiled a striking new poster and locked in July 10, 2026 as the day ‘Alpha’ storms cinemas. Alia Bhatt herself amplified the buzz by posting, “‘Alpha’ 10.07.2026. See you in cinemas.” This announcement not only silences talk of an OTT release but also marks the end of a winding journey through shifting schedules. Originally pegged for Christmas 2025, the Spy Universe project from Yash Raj Films was later rescheduled to April 17, 2026 – only to find itself competing head‑on with ‘Battle of Galwan’. Rather than risk a box office showdown, the team strategically pushed the date forward ensuring ‘Alpha’ will now claim its own spotlight in mid‑July. The makers of ‘Battle of Galwan’ on the other hand, seem to be in two minds whether to hit the theatres in April or in August to capitalize on India’s Independence Day.
