The relationship between Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who’ve been married since 2007 has recently become the subject of much speculation. With rumours swirling, many old interviews and clips of the Bachchan family are resurfacing online. A notable one from 2011 includes Amitabh Bachchan discussing his decision to equally divide his assets between his children, Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan Nanda. This decision implies that Aishwarya, Abhishek’s wife, would also have an equal share in his inheritance. In the 2011 interview with Rediff, the seasoned actor stated, “When I die, whatever little I have will be equally divided between my daughter and my son – there is no differentiation. Jaya and I decided on that long time ago. Everybody says that the girl is ‘paraya dhan’, she goes to her husband’s house. But in my eyes, she is our daughter; she has the same rights as Abhishek has.” Reports have indicated that Amitabh gifted the family’s famous bungalow, Jalsa, to his daughter Shweta, which was valued at Rs 50 crore at the time. As per other reports, Bachchan Sr’s net worth in 2024 was Rs 1,600 crore.
