‘Welcome’, starring Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Katrina Kaif, Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Malaika Sherawat, Feroz Khan and many others, turned out to be a superhit one-and-a-half-decade back. The film and its cast and crew have come a long way since then. Kapoor, who played the character of Manju Bhai in ‘Welcome’, expressed his gratitude on completing 15 successful years of the film, “Majnu Bhai’s character was indeed a fun one to portray. I didn’t feel like I was acting. It came to me naturally. And with Anees Bhai’s (Anees Bazmee) writing and direction and with Nana being the perfect co-star as Uday Bhai made it even easier and lots of fun. I see so many recreations of his dialogues on social media and it’s amazing how he is still relatable even to the famous Gen Z. The character is one of the most iconic and will instantly lift your mood with his dialogues and swag. I am so grateful for this ever-growing love for him.” Keeping in mind the popularity, its sequel ‘Welcome Back’ was made in 2015 and the filmmakers once again hit the jackpot.
