The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted regulatory approval to ‘Awarapan 2’, the highly anticipated project starring Emraan Hashmi. Audiences aged 16 and above will be permitted to watch the film with parental oversight, as indicated by the UA 16+ rating issued on August 5, 2026. The film runs for exactly 140 minutes and 20 seconds (2 hours, 20 minutes, 20 seconds) and offers both Hindi audio and English subtitle options. To secure this classification, producers implemented several content modifications requested by the regulatory body. These included the integration of cautionary notices addressing substance abuse and human trafficking, incorporation of public health warnings against drug consumption and smoking at various points throughout the feature, and the sanitization of profane language in both dialogue and text. The Censor Board also mandated that violent sequences be substantially softened, with one particularly intense scene reduced to half its original impact level. In total, the production team removed four minutes of footage and made 20 seconds worth of alterations to achieve the final approved length of 140 minutes and 20 seconds.
Audiences will have the opportunity to experience ‘Awarapan 2’ in cinemas beginning August 14, 2026.
