In a philanthropic gesture, Amitabh Bachchan has pledged a considerable amount towards the welfare of the Indian army widows and also for the upliftment of farmers. The veteran actor has reportedly set aside Rs 1 crore for the care of the families of Indian army widows and another Rs 1 crore for the farmers who are struggling to repay their loans. In the past, Bachchan has often attached his name to several social causes. The actor has been actively campaigning to spread awareness about diseases like polio and tuberculosis, besides supporting the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as well.
