Varun Dhawan’s next release, a revenge drama titled ‘Badlapur’, has been compared to Ritesh Deshmukh-Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Ek Villain’. However, Varun reasoned that there is absolutely no similarity between the two films, “‘Badlapur’ is based on the role of a common man who has a family in Pune. There is no heroism in this role, if I might say so. The film is definitely different because I have seen ‘Ek Villain’ and obviously I wouldn’t sign it if it was similar. What I can promise is that it is a very serious film based on true events.” The film is set to release in February.
