Audiences awaiting ‘Bhooth Bangla’ will now see a slightly shorter film than originally planned. After receiving clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification on April 2, 2026, the horror comedy was first listed with a running time of nearly three hours. That figure has since been reduced with the Akshay Kumar project trimmed to 2 hours and 44 minutes. The cut amounts to about 11 minutes removed from the initial version. Alongside the runtime adjustment, the certification process introduced small but notable changes. These included inserting cautionary notes about religious and superstitious themes and cleaning up dialogue and subtitles by replacing or deleting words flagged as inappropriate. The tweaks themselves occupy only a few seconds of screen time, yet they mark the final stage of polishing before the film reaches theatres.
