Bollywood Pays Tribute To Jagdeep

Veteran Bollywood comedian Jagdeep passed away on the night of July 8th in Mumbai due to old age. He was 81. As soon as the news of his demise broke, fraternity friends poured in their condolences. Amitabh Bachchan, with whom Jagdeep worked in ‘Sholay’, said, “Last night we lost another gem… Jagdeep… the actor of exceptional comedic repertoire, passed away. He had crafted a unique individual style of his own and I had the honour of working with him in several films.” Ajay Devgn on the other hand prayed for eternal peace, “Heard the sad news of Jagdeep Saab’s demise. Always enjoyed watching him on screen. He brought so much joy to the audience. My deepest condolences to Jaaved and all members of the family. Prayers for Jagdeep Saab’s soul.” Johny Lever, who debuted with him, said, “My first film and the first time I ever faced the camera, was in the film ‘Yeh Rishta Na Toote’ with the legend himself, Jagdeep bhai. We will miss you… May his soul rest in peace. Our prayers and deepest condolences to the family.” Javed and Naved Jaffrey’s father, Jagdeep was born Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jaffrey.
