A long‑running marital dispute between Celina Jaitly and Austrian businessman Peter Haag has now moved into a formal legal phase in Mumbai where both were present before a metropolitan magistrate in Andheri. The judge instructed them to disclose their financial details by January 27th and asked Haag to respond to the domestic violence allegations raised by Jaitly. This hearing marked the opening of the case she initiated in November under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. According to reports, Jaitly represented by Karanjawala & Company, has described years of physical, verbal and emotional mistreatment during their 15‑year relationship. Her petition is said to include a demand for Rs 100 crore in compensation along with monthly maintenance of Rs 10 lakh. She has further accused Haag of mishandling her finances, claiming he diverted funds from her accounts, used her cards under the guise of settling her expenses and kept control of essential documents including her passport. The proceedings in Mumbai come alongside a separate legal track abroad. Earlier this year, Haag reportedly sought a divorce in Austria, attributing the collapse of the marriage to Jaitly. The pair, who married in Mumbai in 2010, spent much of their married life moving between cities such as Dubai, Singapore, Mumbai and various locations in Austria due to Haag’s professional commitments.
