‘Chandu Champion’ directed by Kabir Khan and featuring Kartik Aaryan, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav and others had a lacklustre first week with earnings of Rs 34 crores. Despite a modest opening, the film has shown commendable growth in its subsequent days. A stronger initial reception could have potentially led to better overall performance. As it enters its crucial second week, ‘Chandu Champion’ aims for a double-digit weekend to bolster its numbers. With solid support from urban centres, the Kartik Aaryan starrer eyes a minimum target of Rs 50 crores by the end of its theatrical run. However, competition looms as ‘Munjya’ currently holds the top spot among Hindi moviegoers and ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is set to release in just six days posing a significant challenge by potentially diverting screens from ‘Chandu Champion’. Although there is support for ‘Chandu Champion’ in terms of reviews, it is not translating into high box office numbers.
