Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’ continues to dominate the box office amassing an impressive Rs 107.5 crore in its second weekend alone. This historical drama has firmly established itself among the highest-grossing Bollywood films achieving the second-largest second-weekend collection for recent Hindi releases. While ‘Pushpa 2’ (Hindi) leads with Rs 127 crore, ‘Chhaava’ has surpassed several other major hits, including Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Stree 2’ (Rs 92.9 crore), Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ (Rs 90.47 crore), Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ (Rs 87.56 crore), Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ (Rs 82.46 crore), and ‘Pathaan’ (Rs 63.5 crore). With second-weekend earnings exceeding Rs 100 crore, ‘Chhaava’ has emerged as one of the year’s most successful films. The movie’s strong word-of-mouth and historical significance have been pivotal in maintaining its robust box office performance. In just ten days, the Laxman Utekar directed film has already raked in Rs 326.75 crore and with no major releases until early March, it’s well on track to cross the Rs 400 crore mark in India. Additionally, it is nearing the USD 4 million milestone in North America.
